Hi.
Currently, all of the photos I've taken with my iPhone are in the one default album, Camera Roll. I would like to create new photo albums and move photos from the Camera Roll album into the new ones I create.

I found this:
http://www.ehow.com/how_2065412_photo-album-iphone.html
But like the comments say, there seems to be a missing first step, because I do not see an add button.

Someone told me to create new folders in the folder on my computer with which I sync in iTunes and it will use those folder names for new album names. So I made a folder called iPhone Photos and in there I created a folder called Camera Roll along with a few others that I would like to be the new albums. But when it syncs, nothing changes. It doesn't put the photos in the Camera Roll folder on my computer nor does it create new folders on the iPhone. I read elsewhere that the folders must contain photos for it to create them on the iPhone. But I don't even know how to get my photos off the iPhone, which I guess is another issue.

btw, I'm on a Windows XP system, so I don't have iPhoto.

I feel silly because I feel this should be something simple. Maybe I missing something obvious. :p

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

delita,

Funny I was going to send the same questions but you beat me to it.

I checked out the ehow link, searched all over the itunes app and messed with the iphone photos app. I googled iphoto for a PC version but I haven't chased down all of the links yet. I've also searched the app store for some kind of a
photo/album app, no luck there yet.

I'm coming to the conclusion that we will need a MAC with the iphoto app it we want to photo albums other than the default "Camera Roll" :(

I hope I'm wrong.

I think when you connect the iphone to the pc, a window comes up about copying the pics out of the iphone to the pc. Windows then has access to the camera roll folder and you should be able to move it out. I have copied pics from the camera roll to my pc that way.
If you already created that iphone pictures folder with more folders in it with pics, they will be transferred to the iphone via itunes as long as you tell itunes where and what folders to sync. The folders will show up under albums in the phone. Even the empty folders should show up in the phone as I made an error the first time out with an empty folder and it still shows up as an album. You do not need a Mac to do this.
G'luck!

yeah, I got it working, but not quite to my satisfaction.

When you sync, if there are folders in the folder with which you're syncing, and those folders have pics in them, it will create those folders on the phone. there must be pics in the folders for it to work.

However, using the windows image/fax viewer to copy the pics off the phone on to the computer has a problem. All the pics are in landscape format. yeah, i could use an image editing program to fix em all, but that's a pain, and i shouldnt have to do that. it's kinda weird though cuz when i email pics from my phone, they are in the correct orientation.
