Creative Suite CS4 upgrade advice please

Hi all. I need to upgrade my 2 macs to Adobe CS4 Design Premium. My iMac currently runs Creative Suite Premium 1 and my MBP runs Macromedia Studio 2004. Do you know if I need to buy 2 copies of CS4?. I'd like to run both machines together and can't work out whether I need to buy 2 copies. Also, to install, would I need to uninstall and then use the key codes from the original suites or key codes from the new copy(ies)?. Thanks.

From Adobe Photoshop CS4 EULA (cannot copy from document so paraphrasing section 2.4)

You are allowed to install a second copy of the software on a portable computer provided that you don't use both at the same time.

So if you wanted to use both of them at the same time, you need two copies of CS4.

It doesn't look like Macromedia Studio 2004 is upgrade eligible, you may need to buy a full copy for the second license.

I have never upgraded Photoshop, so I don't know what the procedure is with the serial numbers. Keep in mind that if you upgrade, your current copy of CS1 cannot be installed on any other computer(and selling it is expressly prohibited unless you also sell CS4 to the same person) (See Section 5).

If you can hold off for a few months, why not wait till CS5 comes out. The cost of the suite even with upgrade prices is so high, that if you can defer for a few months then I'd recommend that.

Given that adobe showed off the new version of PS recently, I'd say its going to get released some time this year.

Now's actually a really good time if you need it. I received an email saying that there's 10% off upgrades to CS4 until March 5th.

I just upgraded from CS3 Web Premium to CS4 Design Premium. I did not *have* to uninstall CS3 before installing CS4... however my CS3 applications were not overwritten. They are still sitting on my machine taking up space.

So now I have CS3 and CS4 both installed on this computer. It's a mess that I haven't found time to fix yet.

Exactly.

Especially regarding the fact that Photoshop CS4 is 32bit, and CS5 is expected to be 64bit.
