i have heard a review from an ozzy mag saying it is as good as an ipod nano, just a little thicker and the thumb thing is annoying

They seem basically nice enough. I'm not sure I'll ever understand any design philosophy that considers them physically attractive, but the screens seem nice.
I wonder what the future of these devices is given their incompatibility with the Zune microcosm? Or, I guess people who buy these things aren't exactly in the hottest demographics for online music purchasing....
