I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this. I bought my XS using my Visa Signature card which extends the manufacturer's warranty to 2 years in the US. When you're making a claim through Visa, they want you to upload both a) the sales receipt showing the last 4 digits of your card and b) the credit card statement showing the last 4 digits of the card. Those last 4 digits on the receipt are important, too - they wouldn't take a claim I'd done for a different product since I only had a gift receipt which didn't show the 4 digits.

So the potential problem is that I paid for the new phone using Apple Pay, and the sales receipt shows the last 4 digits of my Device Account Number, *not* the digits for the card itself. I'm concerned that should I need to make a claim after the first year, it will be denied because those numbers don't match.

Has anyone ever tried to make a Visa warranty claim on something that was purchased using Apple Pay?

Seems like simply supplementing that documentation with a screenshot from the card on your phone showing both the last four of the card number and the the last four of the device account number would work...

Also, wouldn't the issuer have the DAN anyway?

Issuers generally outsource their benefit handling to third parties, so that could be an issue.

FWIW, I did get an Apple Pay charge on SLC's mass transit reimbursed as part of my card's trip delay coverage by submitting a screenshot as you mentioned. YMMV though, especially if you're not using Chase.
