I released my first mobile app, Gap Cap, a few months ago. I was shooting for 5 thousand downloads. I am somewhat disappointed with only getting just over 1 thousand downloads. However, I’ve learned a lot during the process of creating, releasing, and marketing a game completely. I’m in the early stages of development for my second game and before I get too far, I would love some constructive criticism on Gap Cat. For example, do you like the style of the game, are the mechanics smooth, etc.

If you could give it a download and give me some feedback it would be much appreciated.

Here is the link to my website with the links for both android and ios devices: http://shallotgames.com/gapcat.html

Thank you!

I like the style alright, it's pretty solid pixel art, but the game itself feels like too much is left to luck rather than skill. Any time I reach one of the triple jumps between the small buildings, I feel like if I don't jump at just the right time, there's absolutely no way to recover. The best runners always make it feel like it's your fault you screwed up, rather than the game design getting in your way.

It's pretty fun, but it could use some tweaking.
