This game is great, but is spoiled a bit by the graphics slow-down and often stuttery gameplay.

Hmm, I noticed the same in Monkey Ball too. Way less smooth than in the demos/videos we've seen...
did you update iphone through itunes or the update that was not meant for the original iphone that was 'leaked' yesterday? that could make a difference - if you have the new phone ignore me.
Officially through iTunes today.
And I'll have my 3G tomorrow morning (on its way) so I'll compare the two
