So my up-til-now clipboard app Paste just went subscription.
Sorry, I’ve been defending subscriptions in other places, but honestly, £10 a year for a minor system utility doesn’t work for me. I can’t pay a subs for every little utility and extension I use.

Jumping ship; wondering what other people use/recommend? Might go back to unclutter in the interim.

If you previously purchased Paste, you get up to a year free with the new model.

For $10.00, I may just keep it. It is a good app.

I know (I eventually found that buried in a post on Medium linked from the release notes on the App Store! No mention on Twitter, no mail to existing purchasers, no explanation in the release notes themselves). it's a good utility, but I draw the line at repurchasing a small app that hasn't added a single new feature since I purchased it, only bug fixes, and now wants to rent itself out to me at an approx 300% price hike for no new functionality.

I'm getting worn down by this and I can't repurchase EVERY piece of software EVERY year.

Would rather this didn't become another thread about the pros and cons of subscription models; that's been done to death on the Fantastical threads (and I've joined in, and am not against the idea in principle).
