I ran TF2 in Crossover for about a year, and despite it being pretty much the main game they advertise the software for, it was constantly buggy and ran terribly.

I used crossover for a while for a halflife mod and it rain fine on OSX. Graphic intensive games though I wouldn't even both trying however. Like everyone else said, I'd stick to native platform.
While buying Crossover helps Wine development... I see no use to use it myself.
But I'd rather play any game in OSX through Wine with a few bugs and lower graphics settings than have to install or boot into Windows.... in fact I'd rather just play no games at all then have to run Windows.

About a year ago I purchased Crossover Games for myself to play a few things. I have yet to get it to work right. Sure 100% supported games seem to work "OK" but not great. But even those games have glitches; it just wasn't worth it.
Really, something I would consider a real waste of money. If you're a gamer, buy Win7 and install bootcamp. If you're an occasional gamer, stick with native games (steam). If you like playing old games, maybe Parallels is the way to go. But I can't see any good reason to use Crossover.

I bought that just so that I might have a chance to play Star Trek Armada but it wouldn't run. I can't even play that game in virtual environment and it requires a Windows 98 / 2000 with hardware support for the graphics. The sequel to the game is not as fun and works with Windows 7.
I wish CrossOver could run older games that are impossible to run with Windows 7 or a Virtual environment.

I have Armada and Armada 2 ... (I think the 2nd one is much better). Both run in Wine just fine for me.
I've already got Crossover but it was definitely worth it. I use it for Deus Ex, Baldur's Gate I & II, Planescape: Torment and others which run flawlessly.
Generally speaking you can look on their site and see how well you can expect a given game to run.. For me it was a godsend and let me play all the classics I was missing without needing windows.

i used crossover games to play tf2 for about a year and a half and it ran fine on both my mbp and mac pro. but now that native tf2 for mac is out, i have no used for crossover games. crossover games worked well for me with tf2, i am thankful for not having to boot into windows to play the game. now, i am even more thankful for native steam!!
I can recommend CrossOver games, used it a lot before many Valves games and Steam were ported over. Most recently used it to play Alien Swarm on OSX and it worked perfect. Runs Guild Wars great and many games.. so yeah for $10 isn't shabby. Runs better than say a game in parallels, but of course Bootcamp is always the way to go.
