It's been a while since I've been using µTorrent through CrossOver on my Mac, and recently I have come to notice something very annoying. (Let me mention first that I use "pre-allocate all files" on µTorrent.) Whenever I right click on a torrent in µTorrent and choose to "Remove and Delete .torrent + Data", the torrent normally disappears from µTorrent, and whichever folder the .torrent was downloading goes away too (NOT to be found in the Mac recycle bin, mind you), but with one small detail: the free space on my HDD (actually, Macintosh HD, since I have set a default download folder for µTorrent on my Mac Desktop) remains the same, as if the torrent folder never left. At first I thought that I might need to exit µTorrent, or even CrossOver too, before that disk space is reclaimed, but even then, no difference at all. I even restarted my Mac, but still nothing. So, my question I quess is:
How come all that disk space is supposedly occupied, and how can I get it back?
Mind you, I have been using the "Remove and Delete .torrent + Data" quite often too, and have always been wandering how could it be that my start-up disk always got "nearly full" when all I ever did was to try and clean useless files up.. This means that there must be a considerable ammount of gigas being falsely occupied on my Macintosh HD. I even thought that uninstalling µTorrent or CrossOver might remove whatever files they used, but then again I thought that I might not want to risk it since if I remove them there might not be a way back to tracing the root of the problem..
One other question that's been bothering me is this:
If I save a file on the "Windows" desktop in CrossOver (through a windows application apparently), where is it on my Macintosh HD?
(because, apparently, it's not just "virtual" since I can recall the file any time in the supposed location I saved it, through the same windows app.)
Thank you all in advance.
