the new crucial realssd c400 256gb got a nice review. look below for the IOPs very nice numbers.

Crucial M4 256gb will be the same as Micron c400 one is retail one is oem. With those speeds below this will be a great boot drive /Itunes drive for audiophiles . No spinning sound to interfere with the music. Cost is in the 475.00 range. Around 919 for a 512gb. If cindori has found a trim for all ssd solution I will need to buy a ssd this year.

I don't understand how it has great IOPS with the same marvell controller that intel is using in its 510series.

A sad fact is that none of the latest gen drives are improving on 4K random reads which is the spec that translates into real world performance for desktop users. Modest or even remarkable gains in sequential performance are irrelevant in real world use.

Bottom line, from what I'm hearing, if you have a good SSD now, there's no compelling reason to upgrade this round.

Sure there is: cheaper prices on the existing/recent round of SSDs that were already great performers and now even more affordable.

I have to agree if this drive really does this the 512gb model is 920usd that is not that expensive for 512gb. add to it cindori's trim patch and it sounds like a winner.
