Been toying for a while about upgrading RAM to 16GB and checked price today and it's £103.19 equivalent to $155.93!!!!!

What the heck has happened to memory prices, when I checked in January it was £88.19/$133.26. Really miffed!

Anyone know anywhere else in UK for compatible RAM?

Thanks in advance.

Memory prices have risen over the last couple of months. Like many things in life, there is an ebb and flow to the cost....

When I last checked it was £76.79 and that was in Feb 2013, dunno what the fack has happened to put the price that high.

I noticed the same.

I recently bought 16gb for my new Mini. I ended getting mine from Amazon, it was $89 vs over $115 directly from Crucial. I just rechecked Amazon the same ram is up to $105 now, I ordered 9 days ago...

Crucial is a premium brand of memory. The price fluctuation on Amazon normally represents a combination of their costs, amount of their own supply and customer demand. I have seen prices on Amazon change from one hour to the next.

I just checked and noticed that the 16GB dual kit of Crucial memory on Amazon jumped from $105 USD a day or two ago to $106 USD today.

...but that is down from $115 USD a week ago. :)

Update: I just noticed that Kingston HyperX 16GB on Amazon jumped from $138 USD where it was for weeks to $145 USD today.

Kingston HyperX 16GB just jumped on Amazon U.S. to $153 USD today from $145 yesterday.

Crucial 16GB on Amazon U.S. is holding at $106 USD.

From the link above The Tech Report claims these DDR3 RAM increases are due to increased demand in China's tablet market. The problem is that all RAM prices seem to have been going up in price...newer desktop RAM included ...which runs at different speeds than DDR3 RAM for the current tablet/notebook SODIMMs.

I paid $110 on Amazon US a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, I didn't notice I had an old address on my account and it was shipped to another state.

Macsales.com (OWC) has 16gb ram for the Mac mini at about 135 bucks so you could check that out. I've heard great things about them and the ram I use from them works great!

I paid $85 for 16 GB of Crucial for the 2012 Mini back in October.

I also got 16gb of crucial around the same time for the new imac. With shipping I paid 71. Crazy how much the cost has gone up.

I bought 16gb ram from currys today for £80, installed no problems and works flawlessly, go check it out OP
