I want to upgrade my 20inch intel imac's RAM

The forums seems to suggest Crucial but a 1gb stick is at around 175 on Newegg and their website. Any cheaper, but equally good opportunities?

I got both of the 1GB sticks in my 17" Intellimac (same RAM as yours, and for that matter any Intel Mac yet offered) from OWC. $114 the last time I checked. Work great. Highly recommended.

I second OWC. In the end, Crucial or OWC, will give you the same results. Save some money, or get two 1 GB sticks from OWC instead.

Crucial gives me more piece of mind though. I've never heard anything bad about Crucial, and have had excellent experience, product-wise and customer service-wise, so I stick with them. I've read some ram horror stories, some of which are most likely just urban myths, but I don't want to chance it with a new computer.

Not saying that other companies aren't as good, just that I love Crucial.

Fine, but I've been using OWC for years and many GB of RAM with no issues whatsoever. And they are much less expensive, at least as of now. And I've never heard of anyone having issues with them.

Another happy OWC user here. I gave up on Crucial after their pricing schemes were revealed.

Another thought (I realized you've already purchased): check your local stores. My roommate picked up a 1GB stick for his powerbook yesterday at Digital Society, a small mac retailer here in manhattan. Price was within $10 of crucial after taxes, and he walked out with it in hand. We installed it this morning with no issues at all.
