I'm aware of the speculation that Crucial uses dynamic pricing and that RAM prices change according to demand, but the price of a 1gb stick of RAM for my forthcoming Macbook has changed from what I remember being £70 to £95

Is demand for RAM really going to change the price that much?

there are a number of discount codes around you can use which will typically give you 5% discount. eg
PRINTPROMO

Also if you use a cashback site like www.quidco.com you can currently get 10% cashback as well!

I also paid with a credit card that gives cashback as well - every little helps! ;)

RAM is expensive atm, dabs.co.uk will give you a bit of a discount on crucial ram, if you shop around you should be able to pay about £80/gb (which is what PCWorld charges...)

RAM prices have spiked everywhere as PC users have started buying lots of it in order to prepare for running Vista. Prices are expected to remain high through at least November and possibly through the holidays.
