is there any way of playing crysis or crysis 2 demo on mac without using bootcamp?

Why bother most macs have too poor graphics cards to run the games. Plus its all direct x

yeah tried using the wine thing but its all too long winded, surely my new mbp 2011 will be able to handle playin crysis?

Not true. My MBP runs Crysis 1 just fine (15-25fps) on Bootcamp, medium to low settings. :)

So does mine!!! Probably because they're the same...
Although it's considerably below the minimum system reqs.

OP, you want to use Boot Camp. You could use Parallels or VMWare, or even Wine, but you don't want to, really. You want to use Boot Camp. Trust me.

I wouldnt class that as playable lol

Maybe not for a super fast action game like Crysis no :D.
I played it 2 years ago on medium-high and I got a frame rate of around 30-40. Made me crave for L4D and it's silky smooth 60fps on high!

On all low, and a low resolution, all levels were perfectly fine except the final level on the ship, which was a bit choppy.

But that's all irrelevant, as the newer 330M is easily enough to play Crysis comfortably, and the 6750M will run it medium-high.
