cs 1.6 or cs:source?

Just got myself set up with bootcamp, I im gonna download one or the other.

I used to play 1.6 quite a lot, love that game.

So, source has been out a while now, i'd like to know.

Which has more online players?

Which would you reccomend?

Will source run well on my macbook?

I only play CS:source and the Steam servers are full of players. I used to play CS1.6 but it was kinda buggy and too many people exploited it. I don't know how protected Source is but it's definitely 'better'.
