Hey guys, Ive been playing CS:GO on my MBPr 15 inch at 1440x900 at low settings. Sometimes I can play CS:GO and have a constant 150 fps and then sometimes it drops all the way down to 50 fps. I just dont understand, there are no background applications running or anything. It seems to be just random.

Im just wondering if theres anyone else with the same problems and what your fps is in this game.

Thanks

I could be heat throttling.
Can't you enable v-sync to lock the fps at 60?

It could be I just downloaded smsfancontrol to see if that may help. I could enable that but I feel that if its locked at 60 it will drop when there is gunfire.

Vsync is like a cap that sets the maximum FPS to your screen refresh rate, which has nothing to do when your actual FPS is lower than your screen refresh rate. In fact, enable VSync in this situation will lead to worse result.

The fact that he does run at 150fps shows that v-sync would lower the overall load on the gfx, causing it to run cooler, which could solve the issues.
