CS3 on Mac and PC with 1 copy?

Hello I was wondering if I get CS3 will I be able to install it on 1 Mac and 1 PC? I know I've heard you can install a second copy on another computer as long as you don't use it at the same time. Will it work on the different systems, Mac and PC? I'm hoping the serial numbers are interchangeable so if I had to I could just install the trial and then activate it with the number? Anyone know about this? Thanks

Mac and PC versions are different. It's one or the other, I'm afraid.

Get it for the faster machine.

I have the second installation of my workplace's copy of CS3 Design Standard for Windows installed on my MacBook Pro, as permitted by its EULA. It's installed inside my BootCamp partition, which I boot inside a VMWare virtual machine. That's one way around it, though of course you take a performance hit running XP on the virtual machine.
