My company laid off the entire Creative and Development Departments yesterday, myself included, due to poor sales in the niche toy market. Since they wont be needing the software suites I used, and since theyre in a giving mood I thought I would offer them a rock bottom price on the CS3 suite. But I use a PC for work, and now I m going to return it. Is there a way that Abode will let you trade it out for the different platform? If not I suppose I could just eBay it for a profit and buy the new stuff for Mac.

In another line, is anyone else having issues due to the economy right now? Luckily I made good money and Im not a spender, so Ill be fine financially, but I never realized how much I truly loved my work. I just hope I can get something close to what I was already doing.

It's called a cross-grade. Call Adobe customer support and they'll walk you through it. Sorry to hear you lost your gig. Good luck.

I just got my copy of the MAC version of CS3 from Adobe after switching from a PC to a Macpro. They were awesome to deal with and I was able to take care of everything over the phone and sign and scan the Letter of Destruction for my Windows version of CS3. I did however have to pay for shipping which was was no problem for me! I had purchased CS2 for windows and then got the CS3 upgrade version, but Adobe sent my the full Mac version of the CS3 just as if I pulled it off the shelf. I would say the whole process took about 3 weeks. Goodluck!

I will second this but I had my new copy in 5 days not 3 weeks!! I believe I paid $10 for shipping and signed the LoD, faxed it over and that was it!

Sorry to hear this Abraxsis. I'm glad you have better financial practices than I do. I honor you for that! I need to work out a plan for any rocky times I may see in my future. Luckily I'm in the jewelry industry, and while overall it's a little slow right now, the store I'm at specializes in diamond engagement rings, and people aren't likely to postpone a wedding due to the economy. Utah is also a little more resistant to the impact that the economy is seeing due to the tremendous variety of industries here in this state. That has helped I'm sure.

Good luck in the search of something new and exciting in the world of creativity!
