I know it is possible to activate a copy of Adobe CS4 Design Premium on 2 computers. My question is; is it possible to activate a copy of the software on computer running Mac OSX and a computer running Windows Vista, without buying additional copies of the software?

The serial numbers are tied to the platform, you either buy a Windows version or a Mac version. They charge you to change it, it's called crossgrading.

won't work.

however, if u would like it only on one platform or the other (opposite from the one you bought) there is a free cross-platform trade option. Just ask Adobe Support about it and they'll know what you're talking about.

my work just got two versions of CS4 Master collection an we got a mac serial and a windows serial on the same order.

Cant get the digital download going though but if they give you both why couldn't you use both?

My apologies if I'm not understanding the wording of your post, but you seem to be saying that your work bought two copies of CS4, presumably one Mac, one Windows, hence they would get the two serials?

Adobe EULAs often allow for the product to be installed on two machines by the same user, provided they are not running simultaneously. However, because you buy each product for one platform only, then the serial is tied to that platform.

AFAIK the only Adobe product where this is not the case is Lightroom, which ships as a combined Mac/Windows disk and therefore could be used on (say) a Mac desktop and a Windows laptop (but, again, non-simultaneously).
