Cube is out!(FPS)

The first real first person shooter is finally out. Yay!:) It's called cube, and it's free! It's a 50 mb download so I suggest doing it on your macs or pcs, although I did it on my iPod, it just takes a while. The game is pretty nice. Some levels have frame rate issues but others are golden. There's the ability to edit and create your own levels, but that takes time, so I just use the ones that are built in. Happily for us iPod touch users all the levels are downloaded, so you don't need wifi. I say get it. It's well worth the free price. Also, there's multiplayer, I haven't tryed it out but will report back when I do.

I'm so excited... I know of 4-5 fps's coming out, this was one of them. Unfortunately it has blaring problems, imo. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon. But I still say download it now, people! Get it on the top 25/featured lists!
 
Sweet! I've been waiting for a true FPS and I'm so glad it's free since I just blew 20 bucks on Beatmaker!

I just did a search for "cube fps" (minus quotations) and found it.

Same here. I didn't know how to move, shoot, even get out of the game... so I just deleted it. Maybe I'll try the next one to come out. It had good graphics, good music, etc., but the control was too wonky for me.

This is basically a direct port of the computer version. To load a single player game, go to the menu (top-left). Scroll to single player. Choose start SP map or start SPDM map. And pick a map :p.

Menu controls
-finger slide in the middle of the screen: up-down
-fire button: select
-menu button: back

It's pretty cool. Takes a while to get used to and needs the FPS to be improved. If you want, you can download the real game. Then you will at least be able to learn everything but the controls.

I tried it, it's not bad you just have to know what areas to hit on the iphone for a control.

Also the moving forward control is way fast, it needs to be slowed down for better maneuver. Also some monsters or point would be great...

and of course frame rate needs to be imrpoved.
 
when the app is loading it tells you all the controls, I had this issue in the beginning but then I realized what the loading screen was

The game is getting some very good reviews in the app store. i just played it and deleted it off my phone in around 20 minutes. The framerate is pretty horrible. Makes it very hard to play. The controls aren't very good (not sure how they can be improved with no buttons). People say how graphically the iphone has better hardware than the PSP, but I just don't see it. I've played some great looking FPS's on the PSP and this game doesn't even compare.

for the framerate, go to the level called cube101, it has no issues, also the dev is going to get some updates out to smooth it out, and this is only the first version(remember mobilechat =]). I'm just sayin for free its probably one of the best.

Ah, thanks for the cube101 tip. That level really is playable! It's under singleplayer... start SP map... more sp maps...

I wish the switch weapon controls were better...

today I told my friends about it and their like, an ipod playin an fps? wow that is awesome. =]

And I did not implie that cube will crash and burn like MC3

lol it's so funny that people get so excited about being able to play a game with 1998 graphics on a phone.

The standard map is just... a map. Nothing there. Load a SP map.

i found it.....this is a little confusing but its ok. Good start but it's so hard to control and to see I dont know if anybody will be able to play it well. Thanks though.

dude, you have to click left up corner and select single or multiple player, then you will see hell of the enemies, enjoy~
 
its cool but, the controls, more like the aiming, kind of sucks (no offense), i think the creator should improve the accelormeter uses for aiming, for me i wouldnt mind if we used the touch screen to aim, do it like metroid hunters for DS style LOL

Ya but your thumb would cover the whole screen.... I think this works, but the app needs to calibrate the accelerometer so you can actually play laying down. It's not perfect, but it's not.... unusable.
