I currently own a set of Bose QC35s and one of the features I really enjoy about them is their ability to be paired with my Mac and iPhone at the same time. I can be listening to something on my Mac, but if my phone rings or I get a message, it interrupts the audio from the Mac and plays it. Their implementation is really flawless. I have found the implementation on my AirPods (gen2) to be far less seamless. Frankly even up to this point, I'm not sure how they work. There seems to be a hand-off between my Mac and iPhone, where the connection is basically disconnected/reconnected, rather than it being connected to both at the same time. I could be wrong, but like I said, it seems to be pretty hit or miss for me. As far as the AirPods Max, can anyone please shed light on how it fares with dual pairing? Thanks.

In my experience the most recent software has totally botched up the airpods switching. It used to work well, but now it rarely works seemlessy and frequently completely fails to switch to the device I want. I had the first gen airpods and now use AirPods Pro, it’s worse now. Hoping Apple is working on software fixes to get back to that seamless experience.

Even worse with several Apple devices. An incoming call seems to be tough for the AirPods, Apple Watch, iPad, iPhone and MacBook to handle. “What am I?”. ?
