Hi all, So I'm considering buying a macbook pro at the next update and was curious as to what kind of performance the current ones are offering. I have a late-2007 iMac (ATI HD 2600) 2.4 Ghz that I do most of my gaming on. I run fallout 3 at medium, full-res. So the question is to those with the newest MBPs, what kind of games and what settings are you running with the GT 9600? Thanks a lot.

Macbook pro 15" with 256mb Nvidia 9400m and 9600gt

Well I bought a refurbished macbook pro 15" unibody with 2gb ddr3 ram 2.4 ghz intel 320gb hard drive , and dual nvidia 9400m/9600mgt graphics for $1299.99 thats $599.99 off!!!! Too bad they dont have anymore. But I would always suggest buying a refurbished macbook pro because they are REALLY EXPENSIVE!! The refurbished section can be found at the bottom middle of the apple store page. You can even get apple care on these!!
You want the 512mb 9600gt card? Well the 9600gt 256mb is doing wonders for me. I can play Crysis in full setting at pretty high resolution and its running fall out maxed out on every setting and at 1400x better resolution. So if you want to spend the extra $400 for 512mb go ahead cause this my first gen unibody is amazing! I also have the 24" imac with 2.4ghz intel and the ati 2400hd is good but the graphics on my macbook pro blow it to bits.
And the next gen unibody will have a dual 9600mgt graphics card that can be run at the same time in both mac and windows. But its gonna be the $2400.00 price tag...Nvida is not making any new graphics cards because a lawsuit with intel....

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7D11 Safari/528.16)

Gotcha. Thank for all of the info. Out of curiosity, what version of windows are you running in bootcamp? I own XP, which is what is on my iMac, but since i'm a student I can upgrade to 7 for $30.

I have the 2.8ghz mbp with the 512 9600 gt and it works ok. I play cod4 almost mazes out at 1440x900 and it works fine. occasioanl slow down with gunfire but that's it.
get te 7 upgrade. it runs wondefully, unless it's just for games there isn't much reason too
