I have been playing around with my iPhone a fair bit since yesterday when i got it.
tonight it has developed a rather interesting case.
i had just been through and installed a few things. rebooted it. then played around with some of them. the first one that showed any sign of a problem was Fring. it was freezing fairly often. sometimes it would go back to springboard, other times it would just pick up where it left off.

so i gave up on that and decided to sync my newly converted movie.
it started syncing...... but then i got the spinning ball on my macbook in itunes. and the iphone froze (the shiny reflection over the "slide to cancel" stopped moving)
i uninstalled fring but it didnt change anything.
and then it rebooted itself. (the iphone, not the macbook)
it now does this every time.
i managed to get it to cancel before it froze so i could disable automatic syncing.
and believe it or not, it worked. it only happens when it automatically syncs.

hence 'curious issue' as opposed to 'HELP ME IM A NOOB AND I WANT ATTENTION!"

it was 1.1.4 OTB and has been pwned.

its tempting to just do the restore up to 2.0 :p

any thoughts as to why it would do that? i dont particularly want to restore because its just a pain reinstalling everything

First off, do not update to 2.0 (1.2.0) as it is a beta that is set to expire before the official release, iPod does not work, has loads and loads of bugs and some of the betas provide no AT&T/T-Mobile service.

Second off, just Restore using iTunes with a stock .ipsw and then use Pwnage tool again and create another customized .ipsw. After that Restore to that new customized 1.1.4 using iTunes. That should put things back into order.

Questions? Just reply here.

well thanks for the tip about 1.2.0....
i think im happy to live with it at the moment as well.
still connects fine, havent had any issues with apps crashing or anything of the sort. everything is working fine over here in Oz. havent tried auto syncing again though.

just thought id mention it.
thanks jav6454
