I currently have Cingular (now the new AT&T, sorry had to lol), and my 2 year agreement expired yesterday, so I'm able to pick from a list of cell phones discounted on the AT&T website, so I was wondering if anyone has heard if the iPhone, will be discounted for upgrading. Thanks

Since its a new to market phone, my guess is that they wouldn't give much of a discount. But, honestly nobody knows ... its totally a guess until a week before its released. (even then, it might still be a mystery)

The rumor is that there will be no discount on the iPhone with a new contract.

But we also haven't heard a price point since the original keynote (I believe) so there's really no idea what they will cost.

I'd wait a while before jumping on any of the other phones though.

The AT&T/Cingular website lists the $499 and $599.00 price, so I am pretty sure that is what the price is going to be.

From what I have heard and suspect, I don't think anyone will be getting discounts on them. Although there is some rumor there will be a discount on the dataplan to encourage people to get the phone.

if you're referring to FAN accounts/corporate discounts- something similar happened when the Motorola RAZR first came out. Lots of misinformation, AT&T saying there was no discount, etc. And yet there were people reporting they were getting discounted phones and varied discounts. The way it ended up, it was the luck of the draw of who you talked to when you called to order a phone if you got a discount and how much that discount was
