Hi all

I knew the refresh was coming and wasn't do worried but now feel the new video card might be worth the upgrade.

I sold my MBP late 2008 for £1K and brought a second hand iMac 21.5" 3.06 4gb Ram 1TB hdd ATI 4670 for £800. I was then very lucky because it had a slight mark on the screen, which I took back to the apple store and they replaced the whole iMac ( everything new totally boxed from store room ).

So I got a brand new iMac for £800

But now i'm thinking about the new 21.5" with the i3 or i5 and the extra power of the video card. Is there much difference in speed compared to my current model.

I'm thinking my current iMac is worth £800 all day long and could throw an extra £400 to get the extra power....

But is it any good i'm thinking and worth the extra cash

Do you play games and that kinda stuff? Unless your usage will benefit from the extra speed, it ain't worth it

thanks

Ok Thanks

What about the 27"

If you can't play games in native res does it look blocky ?

The only reason to upgrade from a core 2 3.06 (like me) would be to get a 27 inch or quad. No point upgrading to another 21.5 or an i3 or i5, not saying they aren't better than the core 2, but it just wouldn't be worth the hassle.
