When I connect my iPod Classic to the decks iPod dock connector in my Honda, the sound loses it's quality. When I connect the same iPod using the headphone jack and the decks AUX jack, the sound quality is perfect. I did notice that in the manual, it states that the deck will disable the iPods EQ settings and this is true.

When I connect my 4S or 3GS using the dock connector, the sound quality doesn't change although the iPod EQ settings turn off.

I have no idea any the sound is getting changed so drastically on the Classic when the sound on the phones is good. Anyone notice the same and have any ideas?

I don't think it's the fault of the Classic but in the way the deck interacts with the Classic. I don't have another iPod to try, just an old iPod Photo that won't work with the dock connector at all, deck won't recognize it.

I have an old Pioneer deck from 2008 in my Chevy that works with my iPhones and both iPods with no problems that does not change the sound. The sound quality is amazing when using the dock connector.
