Restore and re-jailbreak? Something is causing occasional bad battery drain on my 6. Trying to figure out if it's a JB tweak or a hardware issue. I wanted to restore to back up and leaving it un-jailbroken for a few days to see if it goes away.

Can I do this? Or will iTunes automatically update me to 8.2?

You cannot restore to 8.1.2
Only thing iTunes will let you restore to is the latest 8.2
But there is hope in the future there might be options to use our current shsh blobs to restore to older unsigned firmware by using tinyumbrella or other programs.
If I was you I'd grab the latest TU version and save your current 8.1.2 blobs to be future proof.

I tried but 8.1.2 isn't being signed any more as far as I know.

Ok. I have 60 days to return the iPhone for a new one. I'm going to guess/hope 8.3 is out by then along with the jailbreak for it.

Having similar issues. I might try Semi Restore tonight to see if that helps. I've used it in the past and it has worked great. Thanks for the reminder about it.

The latest TU grabs the blobs from your installed image.
Even if 8.1.2 is not signed you can save its blobs if you have a jb iPhone 6 on 8.1.2
That's why I gave you the link above.

Oh. I tried using TU last week and wouldn't work. Must be a different issue.
