Hi everyone, I'm using a new M3 MacBook Pro and wanted to check if this unusual behavior is present on other machines or if I should consider a clean wipe of my machine. When I am using Safari, the mouse cursor often "forgets" to update its image as I hover over things. This only happens intermittently, and clicking away and then clicking back into the window usually fixes it. When it's glitched, it doesn't show the text selecting bar when I hover over text, and it doesn't show the pointing finger when I hover over a link. Interestingly the visual behavior of the link itself usually remains consistent (changes color, underlines, etc) to indicate the system knows I am hovering over it, but the cursor itself just remains the standard pointer.

EDIT: sometimes it seems to happen more consistently when I've moved the cursor quickly around the screen.

Is this behavior being seen on other machines running the latest version of Sonoma? It would be a relief for me if so. Thanks!

I'm having some strange pointer issues (including a disappearing pointer) that seem to have started after I upgraded my M1 Mini to 14.2.1. Occurs w/ both my Magic Trackpad and a non-Apple mouse. No issues on my Macbook Pro M3 Pro that's still on 14.1.1.

Hey everyone, I think this behavior is related to the menu bar being glitchy in some way. I discovered something that consistently reproduces the issue. All I have to do is move the mouse all the way underneath the notch on the menu bar, and then when I move it back over Safari, the cursor stays a pointer and does not update to other images (again, like the pointing finger on a link) until I change context, click on a link, etc. Could anyone else with a Mac with a notch try this and tell me if you have similar behavior? Thanks!

Yep, same problem here!

Just moving to the menu bar does not do anything but as soon as I move it under the notch it does remain a pointer!

I did experience the same problem on my external screen though so it's not exclusively tied to Macs with a notch. Clean install of 14.2.1 and 14.3 also don't change anything.

Just bought an m3 Macbook Pro running sonoma 14.3.1 and have run into this too! Keeping fingers crossed for a fix! Seems like a decent number of people on Sonoma are seeing it?
