Actually, I prefer your design to the one seen on the webpage because it is subtler. However, if you are going to do the bottom, the shadow on the top should be much less severe, or just barely visible. Light (unless you are using multiple, multi-angled lights) only falls in one direction; objects rend that light in a line.

Your render shows the light coming from the centre, very close so that shadows move outward. It's unnatural but looks cool.
