I got Sims 2 for mac this morning.
The main website I aspire to download from is PeggyZone.net/PeggySims.net.
The problem is, when I download it, I get a file with the ending of zip.exe
Hmm?
I already know about the downloads folder, creating it, yaadada, but I don't understand how I can unzip an exe file.
Sorry if the question is a lack of the search button. I tried looking in other threads, couldn't find muchs.:apple:

Well, you might be out of luck (exes are Windows software) but some exes are just modified zips and can actually be opened on a Mac. Try right-clicking it and see if Archive Utility (built into OS X) or StuffIt Expander (Google the free download if you don't have it) shows up as an option. If not, then I'd try dropping the exe onto the icon of one of those apps.

Archive Utility (formerly known as BOMArchiveHelper) is found on your HD under /Sysyem/Library/CoreServices

http://versiontracker.com has various other zip utilities. Every now and then I find some weird zip that I can only open with Zipeg (free):

Good luck.

Actually I've downloaded a lot of stuff from PeggySims. All you need do is delete the ".exe" from the end of the file name. You'll get a message asking if you'd like to change the extension from ".exe" to ".zip" just click Use .zip and then you'll be able to open the file. You don't need to download anything to open the .zip file
