Once upon a time before I got my MBP I swear I ran across a site that sold custom covers that sat ontop of your screen\cover to protect it. I'm not talking about a slipcase but something that actually snaps onto the display cover.
I've spent the last day googling MacBook Pro covers, MacBook Pro custom covers, MacBook Pro custom lids, MacBook Pro lids, etc. I haven't been able to find that site since. Does anyone know what I'm thinking of and the URL? Something that protects the top of my MBP while on the go from day to day bumps and scratches would go a long way towards having me start using the thing in the field again..well once I get it back from Applecare that is. Thanks in advance. :)

That's similar, and frankly looks really great, but the company I saw had a ton of designs including big cat stripes and spots, etc. Anyone?

Maybe you saw one of these custom etching/color companies. Not a cover... but in my opinion far cooler. Who knows, maybe you could get one of the covers mentioned above and customize it =P

I think you're thinking of MacStyles.com too. I think they use like, a sticker adhesive though or something like that. I don't think it's a hard snap-on case.

BTW, I've been waiting for MacSkinz to come back online with portable cases for a LONG TIME. I got one before for my 12" PB back in '03, and haven't seen them since. :(
