Custom Dictionary on iOS4?

Did the custom dictionary get taken out before GM? I can't find where to edit it..

Weird as it is, you have to go to General - Keyboards and ADD an international keyboard. Then the Custom Dictionary option will appear under Keyboards. Not all International Keyboards work to trigger this- try Chinese-Simplified - Pinyin. Then you can add custom words to either the English or Chinese keyboard dictionaries.

Thanks! I added a dictionary, but apparently not one of the "correct" ones since the option never showed up. Good ol' apple making stuff so user friendly. Any idea what possible reasoning there is for this weird work-around?

Seems like this "user dictionary" is specifically a feature of Pinyin.

In Keyboard -> User Dictionary, tap "+" to add a word: the resulting form contains two fields, "Word" and "Pinyin".

I wonder if this feature has been mis-represented from the beginning? (I first heard of it via AppleInsider.)
 
I'm going to guess it was taken out because I'm not seeing this image
