I have been asking Apple to add custom Do Not Disturb schedules (e.g. one for weekday, one for weekend) for ages. I lost count how many feedback requests and emails to Tim/Craig I've sent over the years. This seems like a simple addition to DND or Bedtime mode sort of like how they added custom schedules for Screen Time. I was hoping this supposed big change to Bedtime Mode or some kind of system-wide sleep mode would be mentioned at the keynote but nada.

Sigh.

Unfortunately there are still (and likely always be) some things that are not there. It took 13 versions of iOS for dark mode to come, which is something that plenty of people have been asking for many many years now.

Not too angry about it.

Been wanting something similar forever as well. But did throw a small bone re: "call blocking" that looks at Contacts, emails to know legit vs spam. Not in Contacts, goes to vm.

Big issue for me has been blocking calls, yet want Reminders, Calendar notifications to get through. This new feature gets me darn close to what I want. Would still be nice to have "at work DnD" vs "bedtime DnD".

ADD: new call filter option listed here:

@NoBoMac - all I'd like is to be able to create one DND schedule say 10pm-5am for M-F and another DND schedule say 1am-9am for Sat-Sun. Or multiple "Bedtime" schedules in the Clock app. Not asking for a lot and it's disappointing that Apple still has not added this.

I believe this can now be accomplished in iOS 13 in an indirect way though.

Apple announced automation in shortcuts. If my guess is correct, you will be able to create as many automations as you like that would run a shortcut the action of which will be to enable or disable the DND.

[Shortcut] to enable or disable the DND.

Already there in Shortcuts. With an option to keep DnD active until an event is over. So, can simulate a custom DnD, but one needs to launch the Shortcut: no time based triggers for Shortcuts (maybe in 13).

So, not what OP is looking for (set it, forget about it).

@peros550 thanks. I was not aware of the new time and location based automated triggers in Shortcuts in iOS 13. That might work, assuming the triggers work without any manual interaction and that they can be used with DND in a truly automated way.
