I'm considering migrating a custom domain from another host to Apple/iCloud. I've reviewed the instructions and feel like I understand the basic procedure for migration.

However, what happens to emails which are stored/archived at my current non-Apple host? Do I have to move them manually? If so, do I do that before migrating the custom domain to Apple?

Thanks in advance.

You only need to move them ahead of time if you will no longer have access to them. You can move your archived emails to the appropriate iCloud email account ahead of time if you like.
