I currently am subscribed to Microsoft 365 which I share with members of my family and iCloud+ for myself. Saw that custom domains are now a thing with iCloud+ and I’ve got 2 questions.

1. Will I be able to use my domain with both iCloud and Outlook at the same time? Thinking along the lines of being able to receive mail on both platforms simultaneously.

2. Is there any downside to using my domain’s email for everything? At present, I’m using my iCloud email for ‘important’ stuff and my domain’s email for everything else. Is there any security risk if I were to just switch everything over to my domain’s email for consistency’s sake?

Apologies for the silly questions I’m still learning as I go along.

As far as I know you can only have one MX record (mail exchanger record) at your domain control so question 1 is a "No" in that regard. Also, O365 won't get mail from additional email addresses since 2018…so that's out.

As question 2…I have a couple of junk email addresses (yahoo, gmail) that I use to sign up for stuff when I'm wary of the website.
