Custom Heatsink For The Digital Audio?

Hi!

I was wondering about creating a custom dual CPU heatsink for the PowerMac G4 DA/QS (since apparently the QS heatsinks could also be used on the DA). Is this doable? Has this been done? I haven't seen many dual DA/QS around, some of them go for around $40 or more (when found) online.

I don't think the original single CPU heatsink would work for a dual CPU card or would it? I'm not actually too sure about that.

Could an MDD heatsink be modified to fit in the DA/QS perhaps?

What do you guys think?
 
i have a heatsink from a single DA cpu, a single QS heatsink and a dual QS heatsink. what do you need to know?
 
Pic 2 is a QS single core and the smaller one is a DA single core, pic 1 is a DA single core heatsink, pic 3 is a QS single core heatsink and pic 4 is an mdd heatsink next to the QS. I don’t think the mdd can be modded to work, not without alot of milling away at the aluminum, and i added the very last pic of the QS and mdd height difference

Where do you think I could get a dual DQ/dual QS heatsink? I thought I saw somewhere that making a custom heatsink was also possible.
 
I would check ebay or maybe even the marketplace on this forum. As for mine, when i got my QS, it already came with the dp 1ghz and heatsink to match. As for myself, i normally get my parts from usedmac, sure shipping is atrocious to canada but he has had everything i ordered already in stock

Are the DA dual CPU heatsinks the same as the dual QS heatsinks?
