Does anybody have any suggestions for a good custom kernel for a Nexus 4? I am looking for something that will improve battery life without hindering performance as I like to play a few games on my down time.

Also, I am new to custom kernels. So could somebody tell me how to install it and restore back to the stock kernel in case something goes wrong? I am currently on CM 10.1 nightly with ClockworkMod 6.0.2.3 recovery.

XDA Nexus 4 forum is probably where you want to go. It's a bit confusing there, but if you can get through it, you'll probably have a better chance at finding your answer there.

Or someone here may know, too.

Sorry this wasn't a more direct helpful post.

This definitely isn't the best place to find out that sort of information, as this site's members don't tend to have a wealth of knowledge relating to things Android related. That said, to give you a brief answer, try out faux's kernel. A better answer would be, check out XDA and take a look in the development forums.

I hear good things about Franco's kernel.

If I do end up giving it a whirl, I'll let ya know.

Thanks guys. I'll definitely head over to XDA and see what people have to say there.
