Is it possible to make and upload custom ringers once you jailbreak? I miss being able to create one then just uploading to a site and having the site text me the tone to download. From what I understand these types of sites don't work for the iPhone. My issue isn't even really the price of buying tones (though free is always better lol), it's that most music I listen to doesn't have ringers (Southern California Punk Rick like Pennywise, Bad Religion, NoFx, etc), or if I can find ones they aren't the part of the song or length I want. I'm JBing my 3GS tonight or tomorrow and was just wondering what I have to do for custom tones (if they are possible)? Thanks.

Just use itunes to make your own ringtones from music you have. It's easy. Search for the method on here. If you can't find it, I'll type the steps for you later.

You can also do it in Garageband and transfer straight to iTunes...

I wish I had Garageband, but I'm an "unhip" (but way more affordable lol) PC user, as those annoying commercials make me out to be, so no Garageband for me.

I like to use Audiko for creating custom ringtones:

I find that they have quite a sleek interface for uploading files, choosing which section you want, and then creating an iPhone-compatible file.

You just download the iPhone file, double click it, iTunes will open it, and it will sync with your phone. As easy as pie. No need to jailbreak for this :)
