Is there a custom setting in VisualHub (and Handbrake as well) that I can use so that I can play videos on an iPod, computer display (Viewsonic), and on an 27" HDTV with Apple TV? I want the quality to look pretty good on the HDTV. Anyone have any custom settings (or screenshots) that they can post? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you want to play the same file on all devices, you have to encode for the lowest common denominator. So you'd use the iPod preset.

Which I do not recommend doing.

If you use the "high" setting for iPod it'll be a little better. But at 27" you're going to have to be pretty close to notice.

Why not experiment with one?

If you have the most recent lineup of iPods you can use the iPod setting, but you are going to want to up the resolution to 720xN and have a bit rate of at least 2000. This produces DVD quality files that are compatible on both the Apple Tv and the iPod.
