Hi, I've installed iOS 5 on my iPad and iPhone, conquered transferring mobile to iCloud. One question remains!

ONe thing still puzzles me, custome sms tones, I've had custome ring tones for quite some time and I'm familiar with the requirements ie less than 40s!

When I updated to ios 5 some (3) of my ringer tomes were also selectable as SMS tones, I've since made 4 SMS tones but only 1is selectable, they all appear in iTunes under ringer tones.

Does anyone's know the file or sound requirements/specifications for a custom SMS tones on ios 5?

Less than 30 seconds for ringtones so I would suppose it's considerably less for text tones. The format is .m4r for both. I already made some text tones as well

I just downloaded and set up the "DROOIIIID" text message tone. It feels wonderfully ironic.

anything 40 seconds or less will work, but remember that until you slide to unlock it will continue to play the tone.

here is a post I have made years back that has over 250+ ringtones and now includes a sms pack of ringtones.

Here's the sound "Apple" and the sound "iPhone" done in the "Droiiid" voice. Thought it was pretty clever. Just open in iTunes and sync to the phone!
