I want to get a Note2. Can I setup a different sound that will play for different email accounts, so when an email comes in to each account it will notify me with a different sound? Can I do the same thing with text messages so that a custom sound will play for different people when they text me?

Thanks.

You have a default notification sound - which is played when you receive a text for example - this can be custom (in fact, I simply copied an ex-ringtone from my iPhone in m4a (renamed from m4r) to the ringtone folder on the phone and that enabled me to select it. I don't THINK you can select different tones for different contacts - I believe you can select different ring tones / contact though.

As for mails - this is a per-mailbox setting and yes - you can select different ring tones for the mail notification (took me a while to find it - not under settings > sound but inside the mailbox settings.)

Already there for mail accounts. For sms install a 3rd party sms client like go sms or handcent and you can set up notification profiles on a contact by contact basis and give them each a different alert tone.

Thanks for the responses.

If I install a 3rd party SMS app, does that mean my SMS messages will go to both apps, or do they somehow only go to one that you designate?

I haven't tried 3rd part SMS apps but generally you can switch the default app for anything even the browser so I assume it would be the same. Worst case scenario, it doesn't work the way you want it to and you have a 15 minute to get a refund :D
