I don't know if anything know about this yet and I searched and didn't come up with anything. This is a easy fix to add custom words to your iphone's dictionary. Below are examples.

The screenshots should be self explantory. I had to edit out my Z contacts and my other 3 swear words lol..but I just added the word I want in the dictionary as first name and added a 1 as their last name so they are all sorted on the bottom of my contact list.

Enjoy!!

Cool, another ghetto work-around that should have been given to us natively by Apple. ;)

I think may be an easier and more elegant way. Just add your favorite words to a note using the provided Notes app. :) I am testing it now...

I really don't wanna clog up my contacts list like that. Especially if you sync contacts with your computer. More hassle than it's worth. I can see how it'd be useful for some people though.

Does it work?

EDIT: Doesn't Work

Too bad -- that (the Notes thing) would be *perfect*. Well, it would be perfect if you could sync your notes.

Hey, here's an idea... can you make a single new contact and add all the keywords into the comments / notes field of the contact, perhaps space or comma delimited? If that works, it would be a lot cleaner than adding individual contacts.

I know, I have some 700 contacts and I have no desire to go digging through them for dummy contacts I used for fake words....

I will try that right now.

EDIT: It does work with a space between the words. I have added up to 10 words into a SINGLE contact and it all works. I'm sure you can add more, but I'm out of fake words haha..they all go into the first name field.

I realize this is somewhat of an old thread, but it seems to me that (save updating firmware) the iPhone does in fact learn what you mean to type. As long as you type the word you want and WAIT FOR A SECOND, then press the little x bubble when it tries to change what you type BEFORE you press space bar. If you that a few times the phone will learn what you meant to type. The key is to do it all in one shot though, you can't type the word you meant, hit space, have it change the word back, backspace, rewrite, etc. If you do that it won't work.
