He also referenced the iPod. I'm starting to wonder if the new home button is going to support gestures.

I wonder if Xcode beta has been updated to support iPhone 7... maybe the simulator has some clues

Force Touch has pressure sensitivity adjustment. Low, Medium, High. That is what he was referencing.

I would assume some options could be typical Home button function with a "peek" press and being able to set something custom for a deeper/"pop" press.

I think that was more in reference to literally just the iPod button changed and now iPhone home button changing.

Ah ok. I remember there was a rumor about a home button with gestures but not sure what happened with that.
