install xlauncher and hide them by clicking toggle visibility, if you don't want xlauncher after, before you delete it, install dock. and now you have springboard how u wanted and a leopard interface to access other hidden icons.

that happend to me to, but i couldnt figure how to get rid of it so i did a restore and itunes made me update to 1.1.2 so i guess i'm stuck till a new hack arrives

Yeah, that happened with 1.14,1.15,1.16,1.17. I would suggest the same thing Ive suggested to many people already; downgrading to 1.13. Just google "iPhone Customize", then find the googlecode page. Go to Downloads, then download the V1.13 of Customize, not the source, the actual app. Then using some kind of iPhone file browsing program, I reccommend iPhoneBrowser, find the Customize Folder inside the Applications folder, right at the top. Then just go through every folder, including the Customize.app folder itself, delete everything in it, then click and drag the programs in each of those respective folders into that one. Installer will say you have 1.17, but you really have 1.13. After you reboot, everything should be back to normal with hidden icons and other things. Then never upgrade important programs like that without looking at the googlecode page to see what was added, leftout etc.

i just did the xlaunch thing and it worked but anytime that you mess with the icon order in customize it brings them all back.

i hope they figure it out and put the hidden categorie back in an update

anyone else having this problem

I hate the update. I used Customize primarily to get rid of icons...and they took that one thing away! I'm hoping they realize their error in judgment and fix it soon.

just leave customize alone, unless you change icon colors and symbols, I only use it to reorder icons, thats it, that's why xlauncher did the job.

Can't see Photo and Camera icons...

Hi,
I guess my problem is at least partially related to Customize 1.17.
I have tried to rearrange the order of icons. I am using firmware v. 1.02.

Suddenly my profile was set at v. 1.1.2. So I changed it to v. 1.02.
Then I realized my Camera and Photo icons were not in the list of the icons.

I couldn't change the order of icons properly and the result is... camera icon and photo icon are now at the bottom of the SpringBoard!!!

What should I do? How may I bring my Photo icon and Camera icon back to the top line?

Please help!!!

Hi there ... can you clarify your instructions .. am not really sure what to do here.
after d/ling the actual 1.13 app and expanding/unzipping it, I get a single file called Customize.
Where in the Customize folder on the iPhone's Application folder should I place this into?
Thx.

Ok, you should be getting a lot more files.

4 Folders: bin, icons, files, settings
4 Files outside Folders: Customize, Default, icon, Info

Using my personal favorite, iPhoneBrowser, just click and drag all of the files into their respective places...

customize on a 1.02 iphone

ok - did the same thing - iPhone v.1.02, and I installed customize 1.17 - no photos or camera icon.... want to get my phone to NORMAL settings.
Wanted to use xLaunch but is for iPhones v. 1.1.1 or above... how do I fix this?
Thanks in advance.......

They put back up Customize 1.13 as Customize (Old).

But whenever I try and do anything with it, it just crashes.

Just re-virginized and updated to 1.1.1.

Customize seems to be working okay so far. Perhaps updating to 1.1.1 is the best solution so far.

Customize 1.8 is working great with 1.1.1 Icons can even be arranged on the 2nd page of apps now!

Works great on 1.1.2! Only thing is that it's kind of easy when you're scrolling to hit the HIDE/SHOW option. Not a big deal but...

Still great app!

I agree about hiding and showing icons accidentally. Could do with being sorted out really. Aside that, great ap!
