iPhone Customizing App icons on IOS 8?

So I'm aware you can make themes with winterboard. I know how to have icons for the preinstalled apps (like mail, phone, etc, using the folder com.apple."etc") , However how do I make icons for my theme for installed apps? I'm aware that the apps are located in /var/mobile/containers/bundle/application. Just don't know what to do.

The only way I've changed app icons in the past was by overwriting the original file, but I have to redo it all over again if that app needs an update.

If you're not using WinterBoard, you're going to have to replace the icons when the app updates, but you can keep a copy of your icon files in a folder inside the app folder for easy access. Your folder will still be there after an update.

With WinterBoard it's much easier. You just create a new WinterBoard entry with your changes and then it doesn't matter if the app updates, unless the icon names change.

However, basically what i'm not sure of is what do I name the bundle folders for apps I downloaded in the app store? (to make my own theme) So that way i can use winterboard for their icons instead of using ifile and rewriting them for example, apps like facebook, skype, youtube, etc.

You can either go directly into the app folder and see how the icons are named and then find the bundle name in the Info.plist file (under CFBundleIdentifier).

Or you can get an app called AppInfo which is usually pretty good about automatically giving you that info. There may be other similar apps, but I just use the first method.
