Hi,
is there any reason why out of the blue i can't cut and paste? i'm trying to email customer support for another manufacturer. when i click their "contact support" link, it automatically opens up the Mail app which i don't use. when websites are set up like this, i simply right click onto the link to copy the address and then i paste it into my regular mail acct. been doing it like this for years but now for some reason after i copy the email address, when i go to paste it, nothing shows up. i thought the problem may have been w/my yahoo mail account so i tried to paste the address in another app but got the same result- nothing shows up after the paste command. i don't get it.

That's strange. Try logging in under a different (new? -troubleshooting) user account. Then see if the problem still exists there.

I have seen this happen a few times. Quitting Safari and opening it again always fixed it. I would also try restarting the Mac (if you haven't already) before getting involved in any complicated troubleshooting. Does this happen on every site, or just one specific site? If just one site, they may have made some change to cause this.

You can define which mail app a mail link opens, which could completely save you from that copy/paste activity.

Mail (yes, the Apple Mail app) > Preferences > General > Default email reader - select your desired mail app from the drop-down list.

You may find a similar preference in your preferred mail app as well.
