Looks like CyanogenMod has something big planned and it's called "Nemesis".

What do you guys think?

-------------------------------------

On another (possibly unrelated) note, a new site, http://cyngn.com/, just launched with a countdown to August 19th. Android Police has verified that this site is by the company behind CyanogenMod (Cyanogen Inc.). This may or may not be related to this "Nemesis" project.

Interesting. Have there been any rumors about anything CM related? I haven't heard anything that I remember.

At 0:13 it says "Free" where it should say a carrier name like AT&T.

Edit - apparently free is a carrier in France so that may mean nothing.

Based on the quick lock screen shot, I see nothing new. Same swipe to unlock, same wallpaper, same use of cLock... Just not seeing anything new at all???

I just don't care for teases...

All they want is to make it seem like it's something huge, and in the end the news are not that important.

It's just publicity.

More customisation? They've been lagging behind AOKP on that front for a while now.

More privacy features? They've been doing a lot of work in that area recently with their secure messaging service and enabling SELinux.

Their own device maybe? :p

AOKP is a gimmick, CyanogenMod all the way! Although I love that widgets in your navbar feature. I don't have a phone with a graphical navbar though (and that sucks).

And oh yeah, it's just CM10.2 most likely.

I tend to agree, AOKP is very gimmicky, but their customisations are often awesome. It's just simple things like a centred clock, adjustable transparency on the statusbar, the blue bar for battery life, customisable text colours, customisable LED colours, custom vibration patterns, etc that make it awesome. It'd be so easy for CM to just copy those features and I hope they do because they've really been lacking in customisation compared to other custom ROMs recently.

CyanogenMod is supposed to be as close to AOSP as possible...and I'd like for it to stay that way. Extra customization and other features should be kept to ROMs based on CM (PA, AOKP, PAC).

It can still look close to AOSP while adding extra customisation options, I thought that was pretty much the whole point of CM in the first place.

Look at the features in AOKP and it still looks very similar to AOSP, it just provides subtle options, mainly for the statusbar, so the user can adjust it to their liking.

Maybe it will just be a launcher. That way people do not need to root to have a lot of those added features.
