Is it possible for me to use Cyberduck to connect to my artsite, now dead in the Verizon-Web-Waters due to them dropping ftp, and my using Adobe Golive as my web site builder.

Here is my artsite address: http://mysite.verizon.net/moonstoneartstudio/.

I just cannot seem to get Cyberduck to link to it and at least get a directory listing of the files.

Any suggestions? or clarifying comments welcomed ... like Verizon needs to allow _______, before you can use Cyberduck ...

sftp? https? WebDAV? ... what should I be trying to use?

If I recall correctly, GoLive doesn't do SFTP. CyberDuck and Fugu are the options that are free that we use, I prefer Transmit. You might want to give them a ring anyway. Some sites no only let you use a browser to upload, like 50sweb and the like.

My version of Golive allows "file, ftp, and http" as Protocols. I am wondering how to connect using Cyberduck (or Transmit), to my Verizon site, separate from Golive:

Does Verizon need to give some kind of permission first?

One piece to the puzzle: since Golive uses ISO 8859-1 Translation, I should set this in Cyberduck?

Suggestions welcomed. Currently investigating Transmit ...

I really can't see them using anything but SFTP, but like I said, perhaps it's only web based now? Might want to give them a call. At work I have our users do Fugu. SFTP is part of it and it's so easy to use even my most challenged users have no issues. Transmit is a paid app, but I like it for it's little extras that you will see doing a test drive.

I tried connecting to your site using all protocols but never got a password prompt.
Methinks you need to call, and sorry I really don't know what's going on.

I decided to purchase a domain name (http://www.moonstoneartstudio.com), and am attempting to build a Redirect page from Verizon to my new host site. I cannot even get their "SiteBuilder" to work, and use my own html for this simple redirect ... what a pain.

Now, I am using Dropbox.com to store the site, and use their Upload mechanism (Synchronizes everything), in lieu of ftp within Golive.

I'm using Golive to do a "file" type synchronization locally, and since the result is in Dropbox, this gets synchronized to the web ... and my name http://www.moonstoneartstudio.com is now linked to my Dropbox index.html file. Simple and Free (other than the long-awaited purchase of my own Domain Name).

Perhaps if Verizon ever wakes up, and decides to respect (and keep) its website users, they will add sftp to their abilities.
