I've recently bought a RAT 7 Contagion for my Mac, but haven't yet found the best settings for comfortable gaming with it (mainly L4D2 and TF2).

Besides, the mouse pointer seems to jump a lot (I use it on a Taito mousepad) and the supplied programming software doesn't really bind the keys or keep the profiles set...

Can someone help me find the best settings for it or resolve the problems above? Thanks!

Did you ever find a resolution for this? I hae a R.A.T.7 and the profile editor doesn't seem to DO anything. The buttons are just the buttons. I'm not sure why or what I'm doing wrong. No amount of changing profiles or whatever seems to affect OS X, but it works in the 'test the mouse' program.

Mouses on macs can smoothly run only if the polling rate is set to 125hz. If you are able to change the polling rate, set it to that amount and it should no longer be jumpy.

It took me a while to figure out how to get the mouse working when I got it. A lot of anger developed, but I managed.

Unfortunately Sondrix, there seems to be no option to mess with the polling rate. The software is pretty bare bones. The razer I had before let me, but this one doesn't.

So for the mouse, when you set the buttons, do you mess with button options tab on the top right of the app? The one that says latched, unprogrammed, etc? I found out for some odd reason, the keys like to bind to mode 1 and if you change that, it changes for everything else. The way I have it set up is mode 1 is gaming to make use of the precision aim. Mode 2, I have programmed checked, so it's not bound to the same macro has Mode 1. In Mode 2, I have the precision button set to expose. Once you click programmed for each button and set the macro, it should be an independent button.

In order to set profiles after a reboot, there is a icon in the status bar menu. From there you can set the profile you want to have after a reboot. Took me a while to find that.

An issue I had was for some odd reason the profiles I made got corrupted. So it would load garggled numbers rather than say forward button etc... I ended up uninstalling the software and deleting the app support folder in Library. I reinstalled and that seem to do the trick. Hope this helps.
