I'm trying to find a comment I read many (10-15+) years ago on these forums. It was titled something like "Cycle/Lifecycle of an Apple Keynote/Announcement" and was a sort of tongue in cheek description of the overhyped community expectations prior to a product announcement or keynote.

I feel like one line included the words "..reaches a frenzy.." or "..reaches a fevered pitch.."

It may have also referenced the "reality distortion field"

It also describes how the item being announced often fails to live up to the high expectations and the community fallout/complaining afterwards. I believe this was reposted by different people from time to time and originated prior to the iPhone release.

Ring a bell with anyone?
